Artist’s Statement:

The earth is filled with moments of extraordinary beauty, most of which disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. My desire to paint comes from wanting to hold onto those moments in order to study them, understand them, and remain in them a little longer.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration. Landscapes, expansive skies, flowers, trees, and the changing play of light become vehicles for exploring experiences of peace, wonder, vastness, and our place within the natural world. While many of my paintings begin with direct observation, I sometimes allow imagination to shape color, atmosphere, or composition, creating places that feel emotionally true rather than literally real.

Color is central to my work. I am drawn to bold, unexpected combinations, dramatic contrasts of light and shadow, and intricate details that reward close observation. My hope is that each painting encourages viewers to slow down, linger, and reconnect with the beauty that surrounds them. Beauty so often goes unnoticed in the pace of everyday life, and I hope my work offers an invitation to pause long enough to truly see it.
